Life Coach NJ: Is it wrong to be proud of my accomplishments?

“… Let him who glories glory that he understands and knows Me, that I AM the LORD. …” (Jeremiah 9:23-26.)

“Thus says the Lord: “Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, Let not the mighty man glory in his might, Nor let the rich man glory in his riches;

But let him who glories glory in this, That he understands and knows Me, That I am the Lord, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth.

For in these I delight,” says the Lord.

“Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord, “that I will punish all who are circumcised with the uncircumcised — Egypt, Judah, Edom, the people of Ammon, Moab, and all who are in the farthest corners, who dwell in the wilderness.

For all these nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in the heart.”

(Jeremiah 9:23-26.)

Discussion:

Reading this verse makes me think of how often we “glory” in our own accomplishments and victories, and in the things we have. We forget that we only accomplish and achieve victory in anything, and have anything, because the Lord let it happen for us. As this verse says, God wants us to “glory” in our relationship with Him. In glorying in the Lord first and foremost, then we are able to clearly put everything else into perspective.

At Need Jesus Daily, our only mission is to share the Word of God and to do everything we do as unto Him.
